Trials & Tribulations; One Man’s Journey to Get a Seat Aboard That Train!

Six Degrees of Separation.??

By Paul at 10:34 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2006

I don’t know how many of you have been following the story of the pregnant woman that went missing last Wednesday Oct 18th.She was on her way to a Yoga prenatal class. Mother, to a 3 ½ year old daughter, excited to be 4 months pregnant with her second child. Well today police finally released information, that the charred remains found Monday, are that of the above mentioned woman.
Her name… Manjit Panghali. Manjit was 30 years old, a grade one school teacher at a local Elementary.

Now you may be wondering why I of all people have brought this up in my blog. Manjit (Bubbs or Bubbli or Bubbles as I used to know her) I knew her between the ages of 12-16. She is my Ex-Wife’s Sister, my Sister-In-Law. It was a Long time ago that I was a part of that family 1987-1991. I feel horrible I am not able to console the family I once called my own.  I don’t know how they would take my calling or visiting them at probably the lowest moment of their entire lives. I want them to know how sad I am for their loss.  How sorry my whole family is for their loss. Please say a little prayer for Majjit, and her family. I can’t imagine how much they must be hurting right now. I hope they can catch and bring those responsible to justice as quickly as possible. I will try to get in touch with her family to pay my respects.  Until then, Manjit Rest In Peace…

I had heard that Manjit was your X sister-in-law. I’m sorry that this has happened, to anyone. It just makes it all the sadder when you have known them. By all means contact the family. If you feel uncomfortable phoning or visiting by all means send them a card with your condolences. You’ll have done the right thing.
    Hugs

Wow! Talk about hitting close to home. Ya, I send a condolence card. Not too sure if I would try to contact the family however.

My prayers are with you and the whole family. We think we are safe and can’t happen to us but we never know what life brings, other than they say we don’t get more than we can handle. Am sure at times we all wonder.
    Take care friend.

    Paul,
I’m very sorry to hear about this. It’s very tragic and my heart goes out to her family.
A sympathy card sent to the family is probably your best bet. When a family has lost a loved one even the smallest of notes is comforting and appreciated.
    Take care.

Paul…what a tragic ending, so young and expecting another child…i cannot imagine such grief

I can’t seem to get her off my mind…as a mother myself, i am praying that her family will be able to find some comfort in her little daughter.

    Rest in peace Manjit

I have been told by somebody that the funeral service is at Five Rivers Funeral Home, in Delta on River Road, at 12:30pm on Saturday, November 4th, and the religious service for the completion of the sehaj paath (continuous prayers) is taking place after the funeral service at Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar (on 85 Ave at 128 Street) in Surrey.

    Paul,
We are very sorry to hear about Manjit also. The whole family was shocked when we heard the story, and now that we know YOUR ties, we feel for you as well. Our sons Jesse and Jared just lost a good friend too recently, Jason Powar (21), he was killed in a motorbike accident. He went to school with both my boys and they took it very hard. Both went to the service (also at the Riverside Funeral home on River road) just this past Saturday. They are still in a sad place, but like always, you eventually heal, never really understanding why, but you carry on. Our thoughts are with you as well as Manjit’s family. Definately send a card. They need to know that no matter the reason you are not an immediate family member any longer, you still care, and as we all know, you have a big heart. Take care. Jim
